EcoSmart: Building an Identity That Could Work Everywhere

The EcoSmart logo redesign started with a simple mark, but the real challenge was building an identity that could hold together across products, packaging, digital, retail, and materials.

🔊 Sound on for the motion piece. I also worked on the original music, shaping the track alongside the animation so the hits, pacing, and transitions work together.

A logo is one thing. Making it work everywhere is the harder part.

EcoSmart needed an identity that could live across a growing range of sustainable accessories, from bags and sleeves to keyboards, mice, docks, packaging, retail, and digital experiences. So the goal wasn’t simply to redraw the logo. It was to create something recognizable enough to stand on its own, but flexible enough to keep working as the line expanded.

The slash did a lot of the work. It gave the wordmark a clear break between “eco” and “smart,” and it held up whether the mark was woven into a label, printed on kraft packaging, embossed on a product, or moving on-screen.

That was the real test. The logo had to continue to feel like EcoSmart even when the material, scale, or production method changed.

The interesting part of identity work is rarely the logo by itself. It’s what happens when that logo has to survive the real world.

Here’s a quick look at the EcoSmart identity in motion and across applications.
